To define perseverance, it is steadfastness in doing something despite the difficulty or delay in achieving success.

In this week’s tip, Jim explains his experience of persevering in this business throughout his tenure with Communications Concepts Inc. The concept of perseverance is critical in business as well as in personal life. Every day we wake up, we go to work and we proceed through the day intending on achieving success. In reality, who wouldn’t want to succeed in business and in life?  If we didn’t persevere through everyday challenges, then we would not go anywhere, do anything, and our business would not be beneficial. Bob Gilbert, a digital media professor from Eastern Florida State College, says “It’s not going to be easy, because it’s worth it.”

According to an article from entrepreneur.com, there are 6 strategies to persevering in your business:

  1. Take the punches.
  2. Mimic success.
  3. Lead confidently and think big.
  4. Influence your outcome.
  5. Rewire for real success.
  6. If entrepreneurship was easy, everyone would do it.

Perseverance is a word that we all should be living out loud throughout all parts of life.  You never know when one person’s story can inspire another to achieve their goals and persevere. One of the great quotes from well known leadership expert, John C. Maxwell is “Fail early, fail often, but always fail forward.”
